LOS ANGELES, Calif. — November 6, 2025 — HazAdapt, creators of the award-winning community resilience app, was honored at the 42nd Annual Business and Industry Council for Emergency Planning and Preparedness (BICEPP) Awards Gala for its outstanding contributions to the field of emergency management and preparedness technology.
The BICEPP Recognition Award celebrates individuals and organizations whose work demonstrates exceptional dedication to enhancing public safety and emergency preparedness. Ginny Katz, MPH, Founder and CEO of HazAdapt, received the Recognition Award on behalf of HazAdapt’s leadership in developing humanity-centered tools that empower people to adapt, prepare, and respond during emergencies, even when communication systems are down.
This year’s honorees included leaders and innovators from across the nation, including representatives from Joffe Emergency Services, NBCUniversal, Universal Studios Hollywood, The Watch Duty App, the American Red Cross, Aspiring Emergency Managers Online, and HazAdapt. Together, these recipients exemplify a shared commitment to advancing public safety, inclusion, and resilience across communities.

HazAdapt safety app bridges the gap between emergency authorities and the public through an offline-capable safety app that provides step-by-step hazard guides, localized safety information, and preparedness tools for ages 13+ and all abilities. With over 60 hazard guides and growing partnerships with emergency management offices nationwide, HazAdapt helps ensure critical safety information reaches every community across the country.
The BICEPP Awards Gala, held annually in Los Angeles, celebrates individuals, groups, and organizations whose contributions create meaningful advancements in emergency preparedness and public safety.
